Classic Audio: Fake movie promos from the Rant (Lord of the Rings, A Beautiful Mind)
Hey good-goods and strong-haves, I have a little bit of classic audio I thought I’d share today. These are two fake movie promos from The Rant featuring Gordon Keith and Generation-X David Lane. One is for the first Lord of the Rings film, and one is for A Beautiful Mind. The date I have on these of June 17, 2002, so these are from sometime around then. Enjoy all of the classic Rant humor they provide.

Classic Audio: Top 10 Angst-laden drops (from 2003)
We are back today with some more classic audio. The date I have on this classic audio clip is January 12, 2003, and it features the Hardline counting down the top 10 angst-laden drops played on the ticket. The rankings are outdated for sure, especially with how much Danny Balis is featured these days, but it still has a few funny moments for your listening pleasure.

Classic Audio: Fake Big Tex visits with the Musers
In these classic pieces of audio we have our morning Musers visiting with the original Big Tex in two bits which I have dated 2/26/2003 and 3/19/2003 (so probably from the State Fair in 2002). In the first piece, Big Tex attempts to update his image to something a little bit more hip than his normal persona. In the second piece we have Big Tex welcoming in the crowd at the State Fair, and this may be where the Fake Big Tex’s well known racism originated. Enjoy.

Classic Audio: Fake Dan Bennett calls the real Dale Hansen
This classic piece of audio dates back to a time just before Dale Hansen briefly joined the little Ticket for a weekly show many years ago. In this bit, George “The Commander” Dunham calls Dale Hansen as the fake Dan Bennett with all kinds of offensive proposals for Dale’s show, which Dale struggles with. To top it off, the original fake Norm (performed by the exclusive Jubinator) makes an appearance to let Dale in on the prank. Enjoy.

Musers UFO Talk Turns Into Awesome Layout (March 2005)
Thanks to P1 Sherman in Dennison for sending this in. As he explains, the Musers were doing UFO talk and actually taking calls…back when that was a pretty common thing. After one caller threw the wheels off, the ultimate layout happens. My favorite is the “Ack Ack Ack”.

Old Wave w/GenXDave – Morrissey Preview
With the Morrissey show scheduled for tomorrow night, although I think it isn’t happening now, Dave Lane (aka @Oldwaver) spend 2.5 hours playing Morrissey songs, Smith songs and even some covers. A good listen if you’re a Morrissey/Smiths fan.
There’s two options here. One has all Dave’s commentary, which I think is worth the listen. Then there’s the version Dave provided that is only the music. Enjoy.
EDIT: The set list has been added below. I believe it is for the ‘only music’ version.

The EDGE Joins the 27 Club… The Ticket Turns 23 Soon
You can read a great story on The EDGE dying at the age of 27 on Dallas News. When I saw the station crapped out at 27, it made me think of the “27 Club“. The EDGE has been a staple around here and it’s been my go-to station when I actually do listen to music on the radio. I guess if you want Christmas jams, it’s the place to go for now.
That means the EDGE has joined the list of the 27 Club with the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain and Amy Winehouse…as well as many others. I’m not sure I’ll pour a “Zima” out for them like DMN said, but I definitely will pour something out.
But then I started thinking, I believe our favorite station around here, THE TICKET 96.7FM / 1310AM will be having another birthday towards the end of January turning a big 23 years old. Let’s hope we see more than 4 years for the little ticket!
As a cheers to the new Christmas format, here’s a good listen of The Rant – Christmas Angel Tree

P1CR Blames Wes for Cowboy Loss
Gordo takes fan feedback on Cowboys loss and a couple of P1CR members call in and blame Wes. I’m sure he’ll have a few ebrake votes too. Bits are fun.
Most of you will have no idea what this is about, so just enjoy the calls. Pretty funny.
Best of the Ticket 2016: It’s Going To Be Tremendous
Here we have over 40 hours of the most luxurious audio from The Ticket’s broadcast year, okay? It’s simply the best. We’re going to make dry dock great again. Believe it. Don’t waste your time listening to those others stations. They’re total losers, okay? If you listen to this audio you will be winning so much you’ll be so tired of winning. We’re going to be number one, and if you want to beat China (CHINA!) you must revisit last year’s post for another 30 hours of Trump endorsed solid gold audio, okay?

Gordo vs Sirois: Was Your Mom a Whore?
A caller from Friday’s e-brake featuring Sirois vs Monty reminded me of some audio I’ve had sitting around. This was a tense moment from back in December when Gordo popped on to Bewm In Da House sharing some secret audio of Sirois’ mom. It didn’t end there. What you’ll hear is the on air exchange (about 6 mins) followed by an excerpt from Dragon Brag where Sirois pulled back the curtain a bit discussing the aftermath.
